The VT CS Miscellaneous Mailing List

The Grad Council has created a mailing list for all grad students and faculty of the Computer Science department to discuss issues of importance as well as common posts that do not currently have a good venue to disseminate to. In general, there is no rule about what to post; you may post anything within reasonable limits. Since this list is completely optional and opt-in, you may choose not to subscribe to it if you find the posts irrelevant or too time-consuming. It is hoped that this list encourages community-building within the department.

How to subscribe?

The list is hosted at Google Groups, at http://groups-beta.google.com/group/vtcs-misc/. To subscribe, Sign in and apply for membership. Membership needs to be approved to prevent spammers from automatically subscribing to the list. When you apply to be a member, please include your Virginia Tech PID in the "Comments" field for quicker approval.

Filtering

In order to help users cope with email overload, the prefix [vtcs-misc] will be automatically added to the subject of every email message posted. You may accordingly set filters in your favorite email program.

Web Archives

You have the option to subscribe without receiving any email. You may simply visit the group website for updates.
